Card Inspiration

Hello stampers! I am stuck CASE'ing Renee's work over at Stamping for Sanity Blog. I feel like her style is very close to my own. When life gets busy and you don't feel like coming up with ideas on your own, you can always depend on the internet to get you through!! I pretty much copied her card exactly but changed the colors up a bit. I was going to use the colors from the Colour Q Challenge but just couldn't put those colors all together for this card.

Hello stampers! Sorry I haven't posted in several days. I've been trying really hard to do more posting. For some reason, the weekend got away from me and I didn't get to stamp one thing! I managed to get one card made tonight despite one little 4 year old boy trying to sabotage my efforts! This one is for the Mojo Monday challenge. I finally busted open some of those new In-Colors! Hello stampers! I am really spoiling you girls with all these posts! Anyway....this is a project we did at club last month. I saw this card on Paper Pleasing Ideas and fell in love with it! I just think it is gorgeous! Julie has great instructions for making it on her blog. Enjoy!

Another Card

I have really been into my stamping this week! I made another card tonight and wanted to share before bed (I even skipped watching Gray's Anatomy to stamp!). This card is a CASE of a beautiful card I saw on splitcoast here. If the stamp set does not look familiar it's because it is going to be one of the new sets in the upcoming catalog! The inside says "have a honey of a day" - isn't that cute!? Enjoy!

Hello Stampers! I had a new "Stalkee" today. I stalked the "Stampin Pretty" blog and found a card using the most gorgeous paper that I have ever seen! It is going to be new in the SU catalog and it is called Raspberry Tart. I usually don't get that wound up about DSP but this one is da bomb. It will be my paper of the month at my next club meeting.

I didn't vary much from the creator's original card. I didn't put as many details into it as she did, not that I didn't love it that way, just trying to make it more simple for a class. Here is the original here. Enjoy!

Hello Stampers! At my last stamp camp, this past Friday night, I started featuring a designer series paper. "My choice" DSP is priced at $8.50 until a new choice is picked. This month's "choice" was Bella Rose. Don't you just love the colors? This is one of the cards I made with the Bella Rose and I will post another one tomorrow. Hello Stampers! Hope you all have had a fantastic weekend! I have recovered from Friday night's stamp camp and did a little "just for fun" stamping today. I have expressed in the past that the Fall colors are my favorite so I decided to get a head start on some Fall-looking cards. This is the first one and I will post the second one tomorrow. I totally CASE'd this one but when I was saving the image on my computer, I did not save the web page, shame-shame on me. I hate not giving credit to the creator but I can't really do anything about it, I found the original when I was doing some major blog-hopping and I have no earthly idea where I found it. It was not one of my usual blogs that I browse. Anyway, thank you to the creator for the inspiration!

There are a few things about this card that you may not notice from the picture. The 4 colored blocks were adhered to the black cardstock and then stamped all at once with the grass stamp in versamark ink, the image doesn't show up on the black. Also, I used the horizontal slot punch to make the holes for the ribbon to slide through. Enjoy!

Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #37

Hope you all had a great weekend! Speaking of weekend, I got a chance to complete the sketch challenge from Beate's blog. I really liked this sketch. I feel like it is a sketch you can either keep simple or kick up a notch!!

The stitching around the flower is faux stitching using the paper piercing set. If you like the watercolored look of the tulip, the look can be achieved by coloring your flower with pretty in pink and the stalk with certainly celery then go back and had a few dots of pink passion and garden green. After it is inked up, mist the stamp with a small amount of water and the colors will "melt" together to give the image a watercolored look. Enjoy!

Hey Stampers! Just a simple card to post tonight that was CASE'd straight out of the Spring/Summer Catty on page 96. I changed the colors up a bit and used the textured cardstock that I got recently!

I also wanted to share a tip that I learned from my friend, Tabby over the weekend. If you have a stamp that is not stamping evenly (for example, my butterfly shown here), you can go over the rubber with your sanding block and it will stamp better. I tried this with my butterfly and it stamps beautifully now. I had been blaming it on my ink pads but they were innocent! Thanks Tabby!!

Another Camp Project

Hello Stampers! I am so glad the weather is cooperating and I am having camp tonight. I hate it when I am all prepared for camp and then it doesn't work out, I miss my stampin' buddies!!

Here is another one of the projects that we are going to do tonight. It is CASE'd from here on Andrea Warford's blog. I thought it was very girly and uses one of the new hostess sets! I used the faux silk technique that was recently a tutorial on splitcoast. Enjoy!

Hope you all are having a wonderful weekend. I have been checking out some of the sketches offered on the stamping blogs and this is the one I chose to play around with today. I love the sketch, don't love my card! I have never like this stamp set since I got it. It was probably the 1st set I bought and it seemed like a good idea at the time, but at the time I didn't really know anything about stamping! It is definitely going into my auction pile along with the matching punch. I thought I would give it one more chance to redeem itself, but it didn't.

Thinking Pink

I thought I would do a pink card to represent Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This card is quite simple but I think it looks very feminine and would be a great card for any age. I used the "water spritzing" technique which I am sure has some other name that I can't think of right now. Anyway...all you need to do is, color your stamp with markers the way you want it and then very lightly mist with water and stamp on your page. It makes the colors bleed together a little bit and look more watercolored. We used this technique on a couple of cards at my last camp with pumpkins and leaves. Give it a try! Enjoy.

Which reminds me, I saw a card on another blog earlier today and the card said "Stamps: $6471.32, Supplies: $7,687.12, A handmade card: priceless" I thought that was so funny, but true!! Enjoy.

Here's another simple, simple, simple card. I made this for a friend of mine who is trying to quit smoking. I just want her to know that I am thinking about her and that I know it is not easy to quit something that she has been doing forever! Try this layout with some of your stamps....just change the main image, change the colors and voila, you have created a card and made it your own! Enjoy.
