Please Join Me....

Please join my group on facebook!  I am much better at updating that page than I am my blog, simply because I can do that from my phone!  Here is the link: but if for some reason it doesn't take you there, the name of the group is Laurie's Stampin' Sistahs.

There are many exciting things going on with Stampin' Up already in this new year!  It is the company's 25th anniversary and I think it is gonna be rockin!  They have already announced a new stamp set for men, a monthly stamp kit by mail and some new single stamps!

If you don't have your own consultant, feel free to browse my consultant site here:Laurie Hines/Consultant Website.

Thanks a bunch and happy stamping!

Preview for Stamp Club/Camp

I still have a few open seats left for Stamp Camp/Club on January 25th.  If you would like to join us for a night of fun and creativity, please contact me!

This is a preview of one of the cute little projects we will be completing at camp!  This project uses one of the new stamp sets from the Spring catalog.  This set is called Oh, Whale (item # 129129 or 129132) and is $22.95 for wood or $16.95 for clear.  I used this set along with our new Happy Whale Clearlit Die (#129403, $7.50).

Thanks for looking!

Using Stampin Up Edgelits and Framelits

Hello Stampers and Crafters! This card was one of my projects for stamp club this past Friday night. Although I had no trouble using the edgelit and embossing folder the first time for the original card, we seemed to all have a little trouble with the die when re-creating! You know how it is, things never go right when you're trying to show someone else!

So, I found this video on Stampin Up's YouTube channel on how to properly use the products, lol! It may answer some questions that some of you had about using adhesive to hold the die in place and such.

The project is a variation of another card I did a few weeks ago. I just changed the flower color, ribbon and added the edgelits. You can view the original here.

Hope this helps! If you have any questions, feel free to contact me!

Simply Sent Cards

Hello Stampers and Crafters! I recently purchased the Simply Sent Everyday Elegance set, found on page 193 of the catalog. With this kit you get 8 printed, embossed, die cut cards to customize any way you wish using the 16 self adhesive tags. It also comes with 8 white envelopes. I added a bit of ribbon to each of mine. I whipped up all 8 in about 30 minutes. Great to have around for any of those last minute birthdays you forgot about!! Available for $11.95.

Products used for this project:
Cardstock - everyday elegance simply sent kit (122377)
Ink - cherry cobbler and baja breeze
Stamps - Thoughts and prayers and Bring on the cake

Other - blushing bride pleated satin ribbon (125570) and 1/4" white grosgrain(109025)

Heart Embosslit

Hello Stampers and Crafters! I whipped this little card out with Valentine's Day as an inspiration. I had these colors laying out after doing a stamp club project card out of the same color combo. The white layer is dry embossed with the Houndstooth Embossing Folder (#123134) and then I used the 2-1/2 circle punch (#120906) to take a half circle out of one of the long sides. The rest is self explanatory I think!

***edited to add: I copied this layout from a card I saw on*****

Here are the supplies used for this project:
Cardstock: Island Indigo, Poppy Parade, Whisper White, Pool Party
Ink: none
Stamps: none (I will add one on the inside later)
Other: 2-1/2" circle punch, fashionable hearts embosslits (#125596), houndstooth embossing folder, white 1/4" grosgrain ribbon (#109025), brads (I believe I used the rose red ones)
