Blog Candy Prize

Don't forget to submit those New Year's Resolutions to be entered into the drawing for my first blog candy! This is a picture of what I will be sending the winner, it contains a spool of ribbon with several pieces of cardstock and coordinating brads, eyelets, buttons, etc. I may find a few more things to throw in after a trip to Michaels!! Enjoy.

Happy New Year Bloggers!

I hope you all have a wonderful New Year! I wanted to share a little card I threw together tonight before settling in to watch the ball drop! This card uses very few supplies but I think it turned out cute.

***added later****I forgot to mention that this was CASE'd from Splitcoast Stampers! I hate it when I forget to give credit - my readers should always note that I rarely come up with anything totally on my own!!!

I also want to share some info with my stamp campers: You all know how I sometimes have a "yard sale" table with the retired stamp sets, punches, etc that I don't want anymore? Well...I have soooo many to get rid of now that I am going to pick a few sets at each camp to have a silent auction with. I realize that everyone does not get an equal opportunity to purchase things when I do the yard sale thing because it is just 1st come, 1st serve so this way you girls can just fight it out! I will start each stamp set at $5 and you all will bid in increments of $1 until 9:00.

Card Details
Stamps: Time Well Spent (hostess gift from the new catty!)
CS: Whisper White (that's it!)
Ink: black, almost amethyst, lavender lace, pixie pink
Other: misc ribbon from Michaels, scalloped scissors
Technique: paper piercing

New Year's Resolutions & Blog Candy

ImageChef.com - Custom comment codes for MySpace, Hi5, Friendster and more>

Hey Stampers! I am back and feeling refreshed after my vacation in the Smokey Mountains for Christmas. The cabin we stayed in was so cute and cozy. It had everything we needed right there if we decided to be hermits and not get out. I have to say, I wasn't ready to come home! Luckily, before we left, I received my new Stampin Up Spring/Summer catalogs!! That kept me entertained in the car on the way, making my wish list and drooling over all the cute new stamps and papers! I have to say that I was a little angry with SU when I saw that they were retiring so many more of the stamp sets that I have. But...after seeing the new catty, I got over it pretty quickly!

I am planning a stamp camp for January 25th so catalogs can be purchased there or if you want one sooner than that, just give me a call or email me and I will get one to you. I am also planning on doing an embossed tile class in February - these tile are stamped with craft ink and embossed with glassy glaze to make a decorative tile that is perfect for gifts. Sell-a-bration starts Feb 1st and the free sets that you can earn are FABULOUS! You get a free set for every $50 you purchase. Be sure to contact me if you would like to host a home workshop or do a catalog show during this promotion.

Anyway..the reason for my post...I want you all to send me a comment telling me your New Year's Resolutions. All of you that leave me a comment will go into a drawing for some blog candy (not for sure what the prize will be yet)!!!! The drawing will be held on Jan. 4th. My resolutions are: #1 get back into stamping (I have been really lazy since the time change, is that seasonal depression or something?) #2 get back to running on the treadmill before I turn back into a blob #3 do more with my stampin up business (more classes, home workshops). That should give me plenty to work on!

Taking a break

Just wanted to wish you all a wonderful holiday. I will be taking a break until the new year (not that I had been doing much anyway!) and will start stamping and posting again with new ideas from the new catty. I will be busy with Christmas parties this weekend and off next week on our annual Christmas vacation in the mountains. So anyway....thanks for looking at my posts in 2007 and being patient with me when I didn't have time to blog! Here's to a new year! Love ya!

November Stamp Camp Projects

I am finally posting the camp projects from last month. I don't know what my deal is, I just can't seem to make time for anything here lately. It is not as though I have had a hectic schedule lately, I just can't get motivated to do anything productive. I think it was the time change. It makes me want to just put my PJ's and go to bed by 5:30!! Anyway....here are the projects we completed at the last camp. If you need any information on making any of these cards, just feel free to leave me a comment and I will answer any of your questions! Enjoy!

Today's Post

Here is one of the cards that didn't make the cut for a camp project. I don't know what it is about it that I didn't like, maybe it is just too plain. I was really wanting to do something with the Baroque Motifs this month but it just didn't happen.

Can't wait to stamp with my "girls" again tonight! We are going to have chili, chips, and cheese. That will probably make everyone so full they will want to take a nap instead of stamping!

Card Details:
Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Sidekick Sayings
CS: Bravo Burgandy, Handsome Hunter, WWhite, basic grey
Ink: Black, versamark, Colored sidekick stamp with markers
Other: silver EP, burgandy organdy ribbon

Today's Post

My husband needed a quick sympathy card for someone at work. This is what a came up with "in the blink of an eye". I didn't want to take the time to drag out a bunch of supplies so, this is my own "limited supplies challenge"! I think it came out quite nicely. Enjoy.

Card Details:
Stamps: baroque motifs, sincere salutations, linen BG
CS: choc chip, vanilla
Ink: vanilla, choc chip
Other: organdy ribbon, choc grosgrain ribbon, large oval punch

Simple Christmas Card - No Bling

Here is an easy, no-bling Christmas card to make that will make your card-making stress free! Sorry the picture turned out so dark. It will only take you a few cuts and a few stamps to complete each one! What's better than that! Enjoy.

Card Details:
Stamps: Baroque Motifs, Holidays & wishes
CS: Handsome Hunter, Bravo Burgandy, Shimmery White
Ink: Hunter, Burgandy
Other: tag corner punch

Christmas Organizer

Here is a little idea I CASE'd from Maria's website of an accordion style organizer made with business size envelopes. For the full tutorial click here. I only wish I would have had some envelopes here at home that were plain white and not the security type envelopes. Oh well, I was just wanting to try it, so it's okay. It is really quite simple to make and the tutorial has very good instructions and all the measurements that you will need. I also printed off a calendar for December to put in one of the pockets. Enjoy.

Supplies:

Stamps: Baroque Motifs
CS: Soft Sky, Blue Bayou, Certainly Celery, Soft Sky Designer Series Prints
Ink: Blue Bayou
Other: Ice Rhinestone Brads, Ticket corner punch, word window punch, blue bayou stitched ribbon, white taffeta ribbon, silver cord, mini glue dots.

Baby's 1st birthday card

October Stamp Camp Pictures

I would like to share pictures of my "die-hard" stampers at my last camp! Thanks girls for your support!!

Pumpkin Trifle Recipe

As requested I am posting the recipe for the Pumpkin Trifle I made for my last stamp camp. It is really easy and usually you don't have to worry about someone else bringing it to a potluck at the same time! I got my trifle bowl at walmart for about $7 - it is basically a pedestal bowl. Enjoy!

Pumpkin Trifle

1 Carrot Cake box mix
1 - 16 oz. can of pumpkin
2 1/2 cups of cold milk
4 - 3.4 oz. pkgs of butterscotch instant pudding mix
1 Large container of cool whip
1 t cinnamon
1/4 t nutmeg
1/4 t ground allspice
1/4 t ground ginger

Bake cake mix as directed on box, cool and crumble. In bowl, mix together pumpkin, milk, pudding mix, and spices. Layer in trifle bowl: cake, pudding mixture, cake, cool whip, cake, pudding mixture, cake, cool whip.

That's it!

Sneak Peek #3

Frosty the snowman......okay, I promise I won't sing Christmas Carols on Friday!! I am not in that much of a Christmas Spirit. It is hard to get motivated to do Christmas stuff when it is still warm and sunny outside!

I made this card with one of my new sets (not new in the catalog-just new to me). This is a very versatile, inexpensive set to have on hand. There are four trees in the set for all four season of the year and I think that it could be used for almost any occasion. Enjoy.

Card Details:
Stamps: A Tree for all Seasons, Flaky Friends
CS: Old Olive, Dashing, W White, River Rock, Real Red
Ink: Black, White Craft, Bordering Blue
Other: Ticket corner punch, organdy ribbon (this may be retired, oops)

Sneak Peek #4

Last but not least, this is the last project we will be doing at camp on Friday. This card was inspired by a swap I received at Regionals made by Colleen Pearson. I made very few changes to it because I like it's clean, simple look. I did cheat a little by using my Cuttlebug - I just couldn't help myself! I know alot of you own that wonderful little toy/tool and just wanted to show you how to incorporate that into your Stampin Up creations! Enjoy!

Card Details:
Stamps: Fun & Fast Notes (a must have), Linen BG, Looks Like Spring
CS: River Rock, Real Red, W White, Garden Green
Ink: River Rock, Real Red, Garden Green, Versamark
Other: Silver EP, Clear EP, Versamarker, Red Gingham Ribbon

Sneak Peek #2

I had to slip in one last Thanksgiving/Fall card for the year. I just love those Fall colors - have I ever mentioned that? I am really loving this year's In Colors too.

Just wanted to let you all know that November will be the last stamp camp for the year. I usually don't plan one in December because people are so busy. I plan a little open house or something like that on a Saturday so that we can all get together (we could potluck and swap stamped items).

Enjoy!

Card Details:
Stamps: Give Thanks, Weathered BG
CS: River Rock, Always Artichoke, Purely Pomegranate, Vanilla
Ink: Always Artichoke, black
Other: pomegranate ribbon, photo corner punch, watercolor crayons, aqua painter

Sneak Peek #1

Here is a sneak preview to one of the projects that we will be doing at camp this Friday night. I have to give credit to Mona McManus for this one, I totally case'd it from her Regionals swap and made a giant paper clip to match! I know that none of you are wanting to think about Christmas yet, but, it is time to start thinking about those Christmas cards that need to be sent out in about 6-7 weeks!

I still have a couple of spots open for camp so let me know if you would like to attend!

Card Details:
Stamps: Punch Pals (awesome Christmas set!!!)
CS: soft sky, w white
Ink: blue bayou, black, various markers
Other: white gel pen, scallop punch, 1 1/4 punch, stampin dimensionals, blue bayou stitched ribbon, word window punch, jumbo clip, glue dots

picture from the pumpkin patch

I told y'all earlier that we went to the pumpkin patch today and I thought I would share one of the pictures I took of my boys!

Masculine Birthday Card for one of our soldiers

My upline, Jan Burnett, requested that we send her son a birthday card this year. He is overseas in the military and this is his 3rd birthday away from home! Masculine cards are a challenge for me (which is odd considering I have 2 boys) but I felt like I came thru on this one! For this one, I embossed the truck image with black EP on designer paper (sorry, it's retired), cut out and adhered to card with stampin dimensionals. I thought it was a totally different look for me and I liked it! Enjoy!!

Card Details:

Stamps: Linen BG, Weathered BG, It's your birthday, Loads of Love
CS: Not quite Navy, Sahara Sand
Ink: versamark, not quite navy, vanilla (inside), black marker
Other: hemp twine (rolled up and put in bed of truck), vintage brads, black EP

Very, very Fall

Aren't you all just lovin' this cooler weather we are having? The kids and I went on our annual trip to the pumpkin patch at Wurth's Farm and it was absolutely beautiful outside. I did get a little warm towards the end of our trip, hauling a squawling kid, 2 ginormous mums, a pumpkin, and 2 packs of pansies on our little green wagon! All in all though, it was a good day.

I managed to get a few cards done today. This one was inspired by this card here. Check out her other cards, she does great work. I was jealous of her skills! This card was time consuming but not difficult. I don't know if it shows in the picture or not, but, I embossed the edge of the pumpkin pie layer with copper and it ended up covering all of the pumpkin but it was still pretty. Enjoy!

Card Details:
Stamps: Give Thanks, Autumn Fest
CS: really rust, true thyme, pumpkin pie, more mustard, vanilla, vellum
Ink/Markers: versamark, always artichoke, more mustard, choc chip, really rust
Other: copper EP, brads

Thinking Pink

I thought I would do a pink card to represent Breast Cancer Awareness Month! This card is quite simple but I think it looks very feminine and would be a great card for any age. I used the "water spritzing" technique which I am sure has some other name that I can't think of right now. Anyway...all you need to do is, color your stamp with markers the way you want it and then very lightly mist with water and stamp on your page. It makes the colors bleed together a little bit and look more watercolored. We used this technique on a couple of cards at my last camp with pumpkins and leaves. Give it a try! Enjoy.

Card Details:

Stamps: Garden Whimsy, Sincere Salutations, Linen BG
CS: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss, WWhite
Ink: Pretty in Pink, Mellow Moss
Markers for flower: Pretty in Pink, Rose Red, Mellow Moss, Always Artichoke
Other: Rose grosgrain ribbon

September Camp Projects

I can't seem to get back into my routine of posting again....sorry 'bout that. I will try to do better and now that it is Fall and there won't be as much to do, I should be able to keep my promise.

I wanted to post a few of the camp projects for those of you that were not able to attend. We had a really great time and everyone seemed to enjoy the projects.

#1 - Booglie Eyes "2,4,6,8 box"
This box is so super simple to make! All you need to do is take a 1/2 sheet of paper (8 1/2 x 5 1/2) and score down the long side at 2", 4", 6", and 8". Turn to the short side and score at 1 1/2". Make slits in the 1 1/2" scores to make the flaps for the bottom of the box. Make sure you stamp your paper before you fold the box and secure it together. I took a scrap to make a handle and attached with brads. We embellished the box with an embossed mummy tag and a tag made from a shrinky dink! Attached some frayed ribbon to the mummy tag and attach all to the box with silver cord.

Full Details:
Stamps: Booglie Eyes
CS: Kraft, Whisper White, Black
Ink: Versamark, Black, black stazon (for shrinky dink)
Other: Creamy Caramel Marker, Black Grosgrain, Silver Cord, Black Emb. Powder, Brads, Shredded Paper, shrinky dink sheets, tag punch

This project was inspired by a swap I received at Regionals made by Nancy Smith of Evansville, IN.

Details:
Stamps: Give Thanks
CS: Fall Flowers DP, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Choc. Chip, Whisper White
Ink: Really Rust, pumpkin pie, Choc Chip, old olive
Other: Watercolor Crayons, Stampin Dimensionals, tag corner punch

I had a little trouble with this card at the camp, but when done at home, alone, no one watching, it worked out fine. It is a suspension card and you can find a full tutorial here.
Details:
Stamps: Autumn Dots Wheel, Booglie Eyes
CS: Only Orange, Elegant Eggplant, Old Olive, Black
Ink: Old Olive, White Craft
Other: Eggplant & Orange Grosgrain, Hemp Twine, Tag Punch, 1 3/8 punch, 1 1/4 punch, dental floss

Pictures from regionals!

I had such a good time over the weekend at regionals! It was a bummer that it went by so fast! Here are a few pictures from my trip. Enjoy.
