New bag for Jarren

Jarren needed a new bag to pack his stuff to daycare, grandma's, etc. I bought him a canvas bag for $2.50 at Hobby Lobby and decorated it. This way, if it is ruined I won't feel bad about just pitching it in the trash. This would also make a cute baby gift, you could easily stamp some burp rags and a onesie to match! I used the headline alphabet set and Frolicking Frogs. Enjoy.

...and another

Here is another take on the same layout that I posted earlier. Another card for a friend who is having some family troubles right now. Look at all the money I'm saving making my own cards! Which reminds me, I saw a card on another blog earlier today and the card said "Stamps: $6471.32, Supplies: $7,687.12, A handmade card: priceless" I thought that was so funny, but true!! Enjoy.

Card Details:
Stamps: Heartfelt Thanks (another fave), French Script Background, Sweet Shapes
CS: Rose Red, Barely Banana, W White
Ink: Barely Banana, Choc Chip (on edges), I used pretty in pink, rose red, cert. celery, and always artichoke markers for the flower
Other: Burgundy and Apricot Grosgrain ribbon, sponges (I sponged barely banana ink all over the French Script background piece and choc chip around the edges of both white pieces)

So Simple

Here's another simple, simple, simple card. I made this for a friend of mine who is trying to quit smoking. I just want her to know that I am thinking about her and that I know it is not easy to quit something that she has been doing forever! Try this layout with some of your stamps....just change the main image, change the colors and voila, you have created a card and made it your own! Enjoy.

Card Details:
Stamps: Love ya Bunches, Sincere Salutations, crosshatch background
Ink: Black, Real Red
CS: Cool Caribbean, Real Red, Marigold Morning, W White
Other: Misc. Ribbon, ticket corner punch (everyone needs this punch, I love it), cuttlebug (emobossed the red behind the wheelbarrow - it's hard to see), markers

Graduation Card Idea

I totally cased this card from a blog I visit. Check it out: http//michellewooderson.blogspot.com . The base of the card is 4.25" x 4.25" and then you just add your square image it make it so that it measures overall 5.5" tall. With these measurements you can still use your medium size envelopes.

Card Details:
Stamps: Happy Harmony (Sellabration Set)
CS: Black, W white, Misc from Hobby Lobby
Ink: Black
Other: Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon

Very simple yet very thoughtful to give to a graduate, especially with some money tucked inside of it!! Enjoy.

Card Details:
Stamps: Eat cake
CS: Choc Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy caramel, Vanilla (Makes me hungry!)
Ink: Choc Chip, Close to Cocoa, Creamy Caramel
Other: Non SU ribbon, Taupe Grosgrain Ribbon, ticket corner punch, markers, cuttlebug

This card was inspired by the ribbon!

Artwork

A friend at worked asked me to help her frame her little boy's artwork he made for her. She bought a frame from Walmart and I sponged some ink on the edge of the paper, added his name with the typeset alphabet set and matted each letter, and also added a couple of photo holders on each side. It turned out really cute and Jacob was really proud of his work of art! Good job Jacob!!

Organization Idea

I found a great idea for storing punches on Splitcoast Stampers. I love how it gets my punches out of a drawer and up where I can see them and possibly be inspired to use them! All you need to buy is a cheap curtain rod - I even hung these 2 myself! Thanks to whoever came up with this great idea!

Another idea

Well, chicks....I can't do much else but surf the web here at the hospital. I am very thankful that they have wireless Internet here! We should get to go home tomorrow. I found an idea for using the scrap rubber pieces you have left over from mounting your stamps. Here's the link:

make-your-own-background-stamp.html

I am definitely going to try this one, I wish I hadn't thrown away all my scrap rubber from the last 75 stamp sets I have mounted!!

Enjoy!

Tie Some Ribbon

I know some of you struggle with putting ribbons on your cards and scrapbook pages. I found a blog with a tutorial on ribbon tying and thought I would share with you. Here's the link:

http://prairiepaperandink.typepad.com/amyr/2007/04/ribbon_tying.html

I should be able to get some stamping done this weekend and the beginning of the week. I am at the hospital right now waiting for my youngest son to be released from here. He had his tonsils out this morning and is doing so well they are going to let us go home soon. I have taken off work for a couple of days so I plan to load you girls up with some blogs if everything goes as well as it has today!!

I'll be blogging to you soon!

Hello again!

I haven't forgot how to post, I promise!! I actually stamped a little tonight for myself for a few minutes. I have been working on Easter cards to sell at work and scrapbooked more with my sister-in-law. I came up with this really simple card to make if you are ever in a bind for a card! You could just change the greeting and it could be for any occasion you need.

Card details:
Stamps: french script BG, Heartfelt Thanks, Sincere Salutations
CS: rose red, cert. celery, barely banana, w white
Ink: rose red, markers for the other colors
Other: vintage brads, ticket corner punch
