Technique Tuesday

Hello Stampers! I found this awesome video from Dawn's Stamping Thoughts on the shattered glass technique and decided to give it a try. I am always up for the challenge of a new technique especially if I can turn around and teach it at my next club/camp and look like a genius! Naw, my girls know that I CASE about 80% of my work, lol!! Give this one a try, it's alot easier than it looks! Mojo Monday Submission

Hello again stampers! I decided to play around with the Mojo Monday Blog sketch this week. If you look closely, I took my favorite sizzix die, the top note, and cut it once then turned my cut piece sideways and cut again. It makes another cute design for your cards or you could use as a journaling piece in your scrapbooks. Use this sketch for your inspiration and stamp something today! Enjoy!

Card of the day

Hello stampers! I hate so much to see this stamp set on the retiring list!! I haven't used it in awhile but I still consider it one of my favorites! I love it because it is so versatile and doesn't have to be watercolored!! I challenged myself to use a different color combo with this one. I picked garden green on the color coach and forced myself to use the suggestions. I liked it after I saw them together but I wouldn't have picked those colors out on my own. Enjoy!

Hello Stampers! Sorry that I have been MIA lately but work has been CRAZY! We changed our registration system, ordering system and some of our xray equipment last week and had very little training on it and it was xray hell!! Needless to say, I wasn't in the mood to stamp last week!

I made a few cards this week in between preparing stamp club projects. This one is a card I made for a coworker. Her birthday was last saturday and we totally missed it with all the chaos going on so we made up for it today with a little mini-potluck.

Enjoy!

Back from vacation!

Hello Stampers! I just wanted to make a quick post to tell you all that I am back from my long vacation! We went to our cabin for 10 days and I didn't want to come back! We found this new place to eat in Pigeon Forge, TN called Mama's Farmhouse and it is delicious. It tastes just like home cookin! All the food is served family style and you can have as much as you want but save room for dessert because they bring banana pudding and peach cobbler! Check it out if you go to the smoky mountains!

I plan on doing some stamping this week if I get caught up on my chores so be on the lookout for posts!

Have a great week!

Card of the day

Hello Stampers! This is a card that I made months ago. Unfortunately, it was for a coworker whose father had passed away. I purchased this stamp set from Our Daily Bread Designs. It is the only stamp set I own that is not Stampin Up! I bought it to make some embossed tiles to sell at the flower shop my Mother works for. The stamp set is wood mounted like SU but one tip: don't get the image on the sticker wet or the image will rub off. I found this out when I was cleaning the craft ink off of it! Oh well, live and learn. Happy Stamping!

The Details:
Stamps: Path of Life(our daily bread designs)
CS: always artichoke, choc chip, very vanilla, retired DSP
Ink: choc chip craft
Other: clear EP, ticket corner punch

Thanks!

I just wanted to share a link and say thanks to Three Column Blogger Blog for helping me edit my blog layout. The directions were fantastic for a computer dummy like me!! I could not figure out all of the computer lingo BS that I found on the other sites! Thanks again!

Also, I wanted to comment on where I purchased the new logo from. It is called The Sabby Shoppe. They sell blog banners and all kinds of digital scrapbooking supplies. This is something I am very interested in but just haven't worked it in to my schedule yet. If you are intersted, please visit their site. Their prices seemed very reasonable but I do not have much experience with the digital stuff!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend and have a great week!

Cards for the Grads

Hello Stampers! I found this adorable "spring card" on splitcoast and just had to CASE it! You can find the original picture here with instructions found here. I modified it a bit to make a smaller one. The larger one is great but you must have the square envelopes to put them in. I realize that not everyone has the square envelopes on hand so, I made a smaller one to fit in a regular medium envelope. You start with a piece of cardstock that is 4-1/4 X 9-1/2 and fold it the very same way. The tassel on the small one was made with grosgrain ribbon that has been frayed. Enjoy!

The Details:
Stamps: Say it with scallops
CS: black, white, real red (large one) or night of navy (smaller one)
Ink: black
Other: numbers were cut using Base Camp for Cricut, silver brads, grosgrain ribbon or DMC floss

tried to post

Hello stampers! I tried to post a card tonight but blogger must be messed up. It wouldn't let me add the picture of my card. I'll try again tomorrow.

Laurie

3rd try at posting this!

Hello stampers! I hope you all are having a wonderful week! I'm so glad I got the yard mowed yesterday before MORE RAIN. The front yard already looked like I was doing a bunch of donuts in it because it was still soft!

We are having a baby shower at work tomorrow for a coworker and I made this card for our department to give to her. I got the idea from here on splitcoast stampers. There are many more ideas on there too, just to a search for baby bib cards. The ruffle was made using the scallop border punch and then ran thru the crimper. I used sticky strip to attach it to the "bib" to make sure it held its shape.

Thanks for lookin'!

Card Details:
stamps: punches three (sale-a-bration '08), A New Little Someone
CS: bashful blue, so saffron, whisper white, textured DSP
Ink: so saffron
Other: bashful blue grosgrain, scallop border punch, crimper, buttons

Sunday's post

Hello Stampers! This is a card that I whipped up a few months ago. A coworker asked me to make a card for her grandson's birthday. I can't even remember the name of the stamp set off hand but I do know that it is a retired set. I made the clouds by making a template out of scrap cardstock and sponging. The name was cut out using the Cricut. If you would like any other details, feel free to leave a comment and I will try to figure it out, lol.

Where have I been!?!

Guess what? I don't know where I've been. I have just been having trouble making time for everything the last few months. I am going to work really hard in the next couple of weeks to start blogging again. I feel like I am completely out of the loop because I haven't even been reading all of my regular blogs that I am subscribed too. I am going to try to make better use of my time and get some things posted! If any of you would like to help me with some posting, feel free to email me some photos of projects you have made lately with a list of supplies!

I know some of unsubscribed and I understand kinda, although, it's not like I have been filling up your email boxes with a bunch of junk that has nothing to do with stamping but to each his own. Whatevah.

Thanks to those of you that have stuck with me,
Laurie

Card of the Day

Happy Monday Stampers! Today's project is not really a card but a calendar instead. I found an awesome template for a calendar on SCS that is almost exactly like the Create-a-Calendar in the Holiday Mini. You can find it here posted by Cat. She did a fantastic job making this template for us to enjoy! I printed the months on whisper white cardstock per the instructions on the post. I altered it with designer series paper (DSP) and used my Zutter Bind-it-all machine to put the spiral on it. I covered the back of each month with DSP but wish I hadn't bothered. It really didn't add to it all that much - not worth the time and effort. I look forward to seeing what you all come up with! Enjoy!

The details:
Stamps: Misc stamps for each month
CS: Misc DSP, W White (cover is washington apple DSP, riding hood red)
Ink: Many
Other: template off of SCS, die cut flowers, button bouquet, riding hood red striped ribbon
