Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #37

Hope you all had a great weekend! Speaking of weekend, I got a chance to complete the sketch challenge from Beate's blog. I really liked this sketch. I feel like it is a sketch you can either keep simple or kick up a notch!!

The stitching around the flower is faux stitching using the paper piercing set. If you like the watercolored look of the tulip, the look can be achieved by coloring your flower with pretty in pink and the stalk with certainly celery then go back and had a few dots of pink passion and garden green. After it is inked up, mist the stamp with a small amount of water and the colors will "melt" together to give the image a watercolored look. Enjoy!

The details:
Stamps: garden whimsy, for a friend (hostess)
CS: regal rose, apricot appeal, certainly celery, whisper white
Ink: regal rose, apricot appeal, certainly celery
Other: SU markers, paper piercing tools, corner rounder, grosgrain ribbon, cuttlebug EF, ticket corner punch

Weekly Challenges

I was wondering if you all would participate in some stamping/scrapbooking challenges if I put that on the website. For example, I may put a challenge for next week on the board to do a scrapbook page in red, white, and black. You do not have to make them totally Stampin Up, use whatever you have on hand. I would like for you all to submit pictures to me if you have a scanner or digital camera and maybe once a month I will pick one for a prize (free snail, pack of paper, etc.). I just want to keep you all inspired and stamping/scrapping and sometimes you may need a little push in the right direction. Please let me know if this is anything you would be interested in doing. Hope you all have a great week.
